Holidays at Chez Angell

Carl Rungius's Gray Fox adorned with a mantle arrangement of conifer and tree decorations at my parent's house. I've loved this fox in its cubist-rendered northern forest (the painting is circa early 20th century) my whole life.

I grew up in a household of artists for nature--my dad is an artist of northwest fauna and my parents collected works of friends and icons over the years.

This piece isn't the sexy or epic depiction of western fauna mid-kill or escape, but instead offers a quiet moment; a moment of repose I've appreciated every time I meet the fox's eyes.
