In celebration of Earth Day 2016, I chose these two recent photos taken at Richmond Beach Saltwater Park in Shoreline, outside Seattle where we live. I adore cairns--they are by definition both beautiful (made of natural materials) and helpful (meant to point the way along a trail). These ones looked so sculptural at the edge of this suburban beach, and best documented without people in the shot. I waited until I had them to myself then snapped this photo.
Vireo loves wading in surf and was soaked up to his waist soon after this shot was taken. He appears to appreciate a beautiful view of mountains in the distance (The Olympic range) as I do.
These images celebrate the terrestrial, the celestial, the corporeal, and the marine--environments both fostering and working collaboratively together to keep things going. Happy Earth day to you.
