2026 Biggest Week in American Birding: Spotlight Presentation "Birding for Her"

I’m speaking as a “Spotlight Presenter” at the 2026 Biggest Week in American Birding event in Oregon, Ohio on Friday, May 8, 2026.

I’ll be sharing observations as a journalist in birding media how the birding scene has changed for female-identified birders over the 12 years I’ve covered the vertical of world birding culture. It’s a dynamic presentation (changing all the time!) as the scene has changed over time. I speak for myself and share the stories of others who’ve prompted distinct conversations now had in birding circles that can only have come from female-identified voices.
